Biography
Jayson Niba was born in Cameroon, West Africa. His family immigrated to the United States when he was 9, and he is now a U.S. citizen. He is the youngest of four siblings, with most of his family living in Central PA.
His work for the Light of Life Rescue Mission – where he serves as their Administrator of Social Enterprise – is closely tied to his values and morals. In this role, he feels privileged to serve alongside incredible individuals who provide comprehensive services for persons facing housing insecurity, and others alike.
Jayson earned his B.A. in Psychology from Duquesne University, with minors in Theology and Entrepreneurship. He is presently pursuing two separate master’s degrees in Forensic Psychology and Christian Ministry and Leadership. His deep beliefs in his Christian faith have also led to an academic career in theology and writing.
Jayson is a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous, and recently celebrated eight years of continuous long-term recovery. He invites you to check out his homegroup; the Night Owls Group meets weeknights at 10pm and weekends at 11pm at the Onala Recovery Center in Pittsburgh’s West End.
He is a husband to Kayla. Today, he resides in Evans City. He enjoys and lives for others, earnestly striving to be of service, while creating value in peoples’ lives. One day at a time, he is trying to be a better person for his family, while helping those still trapped seemingly in a hopeless state of body and mind.
