Noemi Gonzalez is an ambassador for the Ms Wheelchair Pennsylvania Org. (an advocacy-based organization, not a pageant) advocating for fully accessible treatment facilities by connecting with state representatives and local legislators. She is partnered with Disability Pride Pa and Liberty Resources Inc as a consultant providing resources for those within the disability community that are in or interested in recovery.
Additionally, Noemi created the 1st public Facebook recovery support group for people with disabilities, which offers supportive services and peer-based non-traditional recovery meetings. She is currently working towards her degree in addiction psychology and is the single mother of four amazing children ages 5-15 including an autistic son who she’s always referred to as her love bug. However, her life wasn’t always like this: it was a long hard road to recovery.
In October 2019, Noemi acquired an incomplete spinal cord injury pretty early into her sobriety. This event would forever change her life…for the better! Although extremely vulnerable at such a critical time in her life, she found the strength to continue overcoming adversity, the power of her voice, and the tenacity to pursue her many life’s purposes!
