Day’s Events

The fourth annual Pittsburgh Recovery Walk will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019, starting at 9am in the Strip District! More information about Route and Directions is posted online.

Note: The city streets will close for the walk at 10am and re-open at approximately 11am. We recommend that you arrive before 10am so you don’t get stuck in traffic!

9:00am – 11th & Waterfront Parking Lot (Across the street from the Heinz History Center)

– Registration & Check-in (Grab your t-shirt! Find your team!)

– Music by DJ Kelli Burns

– Visit booths for over 40 community groups

– Kids activities, sign-making, food trucks, photo booth

9:30am – 11th & Waterfront Parking Lot

– Welcome from Pittsburgh television personality Sally Wiggin

– Remarks from Pittsburgh City Council President Bruce Kraus

– Remarks from Pennsylvania Secretary of Drug & Alcohol Programs Jennifer Smith

– Keynote speaker, national recovery advocate Tara Conner

– Presentation of Pittsburgh Recovery Awards

10:30am – 11th & Waterfront Parking Lot

– Walk begins!

– Led by Colonel Eagleburger’s Highstepping Goodtime Band and Grand Marshal Tara Conner

– Live music from Pittsburgh’s Clara Kent

– Personal stories of recovery

– Kids activities, community groups, food trucks, photo booth
