Overdose Prevention & the Science of Medication-Assisted Treatment

Opioid overdoses happen. Learning what actions to take if you witness an overdose could save a life.

Naloxone is drug that can stop an overdose after it’s begun and it is available without a prescription in Pennsylvania pharmacies. Student volunteers from the Duquesne School of Pharmacy will share more information with attendees, explaining how naloxone is used and answering your questions. They’re also ready to share other overdose prevention strategies, so we can all be prepared!

This booth will distribute naloxone to participants! Please feel free to grab a kit!

Student volunteers will also be on-site to share information about the science of medication-assisted treatment.
